JAPANESE FASHION in THE PHILIPPINES– Filipina Having Enjoyable in Robe (2 )

< img alt=" marvel ladies" src="" width=" 400"/ > Image by< a href= "" > Okinawa Soba( Rob )Nice fan in the background. Wonder exactly what the magazine is? A very quite lady!

While males battle their wars, and are constantly at enmity with one another, most women could care less (except when they begin to see their own children getting blown up).

Even more, they would simply as soon marry among the “”enemy”as one of their own, and focus on style, kids, hobbies, the house, having their own organisation if possible, and having a good life together with someone who likes and looks after them.

And why not?

However more than anything, “”women simply wan na have enjoyable” ”

! The ladies of the Philippines were no various than women anywhere. Here’s a “”baker’s lots” “of some old 1920s shots of sweet Filipina who went off to the image studios of Manila and Baguio to have a good time with their buddies “”dressing up” “in Japanese Robe.

It would only be a couple of brief years prior to the Japanese soldiers appeared and made a mess of their lovely country, dealing with the Filipina who enjoyed the kimono without much generosity or regard … not unlike the America soldiers before them.

Nowadays in Japan, girls do not normally use the Robe much any more. But, there are those unusual unique events and other occasions where, similar to these Filipina, they have a good time placing on a Kimono, and having their photo taken!

And even right here on flickr, you can see lots of ladies in the “”Western Hemisphere” “having a good time with the Japanese robe also.

These 13 old photos from the Philippines are just a small sample of the many countless pleased memories from those islands that have been lost to time, and remain hidden in boxes and attics around the world.

8th Opportunity, between 37th and 38th Street. *************** This set of pictures is based on a very

easy idea: walk every block of Manhattan with a video camera, and see exactly what happens. To avoid missing anything, walk both sides of the street. That’s all there is to it … Naturally, if you wished to
be more ambitious, you could also
stroll the streets of Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx. However that’s more than I want to commit to at this moment, and I’ll leave the staying boroughs of New york city City to other, more adventurous professional photographers. Oh, really, there’s another small information: leave

the images alone for a month– unedited, unblemished, and unviewed. By the time I actually concentrate on the first of these” every-block” images, I will have taken more than 8,000 “images on the” neighboring streets of the Upper West Side– plus another several thousand in Rome, Coney Island, and the numerous areas in NYC where I generally take images. So I do not expect to be emotionally connected to any of the” every-block “images, and hope that I’ll be able to make an unbiased “selection of” the ones worth taking a look at. As for the criteria that I’ve utilized to choose the little subset of every-block pictures that get submitted to Flickr: there are 3. First, I’ll submit any picture that I think is” fantastic,” and where I hope the reaction of my Flickr-friends will be, “I have no concept when or where” that picture was taken, but it’s actually a terrific picture! “. A second “criterion relates to place, and the third includes time. I’m hoping that I’ll take some photos”that clearly say,” This is New York!” to anyone who looks at it. Undoubtedly, certain landscape icons like the Empire State Structure or the Statue of Liberty would please that criterion; but I’m hoping that I’ll find other, more unanticipated examples. I hope that I’ll be able to take some shots that will make a” regional “viewer say,” Well, even if that’s not recognizable to somebody from another part of the nation, or another part of the world, I know that that’s New york city!” And there may be some pictures where a” non-local “viewer might state,” I had no idea that there was anywhere in New york city City that was so interesting/beautiful/ugly/ incredible. “. As for the sense of time: I remember roaming around my community in 2005, photographing different stores, “shops, restaurants, and business establishments– then casually taking a look at the images about five years later, and being stunned by how much had changed. Little by little, shop by shop, day by day, things change … and when you’ve been around as long as I have, it’s even more incredible to go back and look at the images you took thirty or forty years earlier, and ask yourself, “Was it actually like that back then? Seriously, did people actually use bell-bottom jeans?”. So, with the expectation that I’ll be looking at these every-block pictures 5 or 10 years from now (and perhaps you will be, too ), I’m going to be doing my finest to catch scenes that convey the sense that they were taken in the year 2013 … or a minimum of at some point in the years of the 2010’s

( I have no idea exactly what we’re calling this years yet). Or perhaps they’ll simply say to us,” This is exactly what it resembled a lots years after 9-11″. Motion picture posters are an unimportant example of such a time-specific image; I’ve currently taken a lot, and I have no idea if I’ll ultimately decide that they’re worth publishing. Women’s fashion/styles are another obvious example of a time-specific phenomenon; and even though I’m “certainly not a style expert, I suspected that I’ll be able
to look at some images 10 years from now and mutter to myself,” Did we really wear t-shirts like that? Did women actually wear those weird skirts that are brief in the front, and long in the back? Did everybody in New york city have a tattoo?”. Another example: I’m amazed by the interactions that individuals have with their cellphones out on the street. It seems that everybody has one, which definitely wasn’t true a decade earlier; and it appears that everyone strolls down the street with their eyes and their whole mindful attention riveted on this little box-like gadget, absolutely oblivious about anything else that might be going on( amongst other things, that

makes it very simple for me to photo them without their even seeing, especially if they’ve also got earphones so they can listen to music or bring on a phone discussion). But I cannot assist questioning whether this type of social behavior will seem strange a years from now … particularly if our cellphones have actually become so miniaturized that they’re integrated into the glasses we wear, or implanted straight into our eyeballs. Oh, one last thing: I have actually created a tailored Google Map to show the exact details of each day’s photo-walk. I’ll be upgrading it every day, and the most recent part of my every-block journey will be marked in red, to differentiate it from all the older sections of the journey, which will be revealed in blue. You can see the map, and peek at it every day to see where I have actually been, by clicking this link.< a href =",-73.966956&spn=0.037368,0.058708" rel=" nofollow "> URL link to Ed’s every-block progress through Manhattan If you have any suggestions about locations that I must absolutely visit to obtain some great pictures, or if you ‘d like me to photograph you in your little corner of New york city City, please let me know. You can send me a Flickr-mail message, or you can email me directly

at ed-at-yourdon-dot-com. Stay tuned as the photo-walk continues,

block by block …
